2014

G’day folks
The time seems to be flying this year and I guess it’s because I’ve been keeping as busy as I can.
Lots has been happening with performances at several festivals and country music shows.  At the start of 2014 I went on the annual pilgrimage to Tamworth where I performed with Bec Hance, Dean Perrett and the ABBA Homestead Slim Tribute show with Anne Kirkpatrick and the Travelling Country Band. I also found my way to the National Finals Rodeo
(as I always do during the Tamworth Festival) and the Golden Guitar Awards ceremony.

In April, I had a great experience when I met Steve Earle at his concert in Brisbane. I have always been a big fan and it was great to finally get to shake his hand. After that it was off to Boondoma Homestead with a great string of other artist where we had a very special Anzac day service as well as a few days of Aussie music.  In May i performed at the Coads Country Muster at Wyper Park in Bundy..  Another great weekend of country music and friendship.
In between all of the music an travelling I have two horses these days and spend some of my spare time with them, trying to learn more and get us all going. Of course at some stage there is the need to somehow make a living which I do as the local Barber at The Barber Shop in Pallas Street Maryborough. If you happen to be passing on your way to Hervey Bay call in and get your ears lowered – or just get your haircut.

September saw the start of a busy time. At the start of September I took my mare Amber on the 30km Angelflight Ride from Woolooga to Widgee, west of Gympie. It was a fab day topped off by joining Glen and Brett Albrecht and band do the evenings entertainment. A great fun weekend, to raise money for a great cause. Then it was home to pack the car and finalise a few things and head off to the Texas Country Music Festival for the first time –great to be a part of and most enjoyable.

Following Texas I struck out for Mildura Country Music Festival for the Eleventh time and as usual it was great to catch up with some familiar faces and meet some new folks and artists as well.  After Mildura some sight- seeing and catching up with Victorian friends before the long drive home again.

Shortly we will start all over again as Tamworth will soon be upon us. I am currently writing and gathering songs for two special projects.  The first being a ‘Ree Family’ album to be closely followed by a new album from me which will be my first release in 4 years. Excited about this to say the least.  Until next time folks....
